John Travolta has reportedly been questioning Scientology after the loss of his son Jett in January 2009, according to Contact Music. The Hollywood actor and wife Kelly Preston are said to be “struggling to come to terms” with Jett’s death while they were on vacation in the Bahamas.

Although Jett Travolta allegedly suffered from seizures since a young age, he wasn’t treated with medication as Scientology doesn’t typically condone the use of drugs. Scientology expert Rick Ross told the Daily Mail:

“There have been strong rumors coming out of Scientology that John Travolta is disappointed that the religion was not able to help his son more. It’s led him to question his faith.”

I don’t blame John and Kelly for questioning their faith. They probably wonder if medication could have helped their son now, however, as parents, they did what they thought was best for him at the time so I hope they find comfort in that.

My heart goes out to them because no one ever really gets over the loss of a child.

Former Bahamas senator Pleasant Bridgewater was seen being escorted to court by police after she was charged with trying to extort $25 million from John Travolta and Kelly Preston. Bridgewater and a paramedic had approached the family to try to extort cash from the Travoltas over information regarding Jett Travolta’s death. However, Bridgewater claims she’s innocent.

Shame on her for trying to cash in during a terrible tragedy.

Two prominent Bahamian citizens Pleasant Bridgewater, an island attorney and lawmaker, and Obie Wilchcombe, the island’s former Minister of Tourism, have been detained by police along with paramedic Tarino Lightbourne in the extortion case involving the Travoltas.

Police are not releasing any details of the plot to extort money from the Travoltas at this time, but we do know that Lightbourne was quoted in tabloid reports about trying to revive Jett at the time of the incident and Wilchcombe is was a friend of the Travoltas.

I’m glad to see this matter was taken care of so quickly. Now the Travoltas can continue to focus on healing after such a tragic loss.

While John Travolta and Kelly Preston are still grieving over the loss of their son Jett reports are surfacing that two people in the Bahamas have tried to extort money from them. The family’s attorneys have released this statement:

“Regretably in a time of such terrible grief there are often a few individuals who attempt to make false claims in hopes of making millions of dollars. We will never let that happen.”

This is just heartbreaking, let’s hope the authorities get to the bottom of this.

John Travolta shares beautiful pictures of his son Jett on his website Travolta.com. Travolta and wife Kelly Preston are still mourning the death of their beloved 16-year-old son, who died from a seizure while on vacation in the Bahamas on Friday.

On Sunday, Kelly posted a family statement thanking everyone for their support and called Jett “the most wonderful son that two parents could ever ask for.”

I can’t imagine what they must be going through with the loss of Jett and so much speculation surrounding his death. He was obviously very much loved and his death is such a tragedy that my heart goes out to them.

Our thoughts continue to go out to the Travolta family during such a sad time.

John Travolta’s son suddenly died earlier today while the family was on vacation in the Bahamas. The family’s lawyer is saying Jett Travolta suffered a seizure at the family’s vacation home at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel. Attempts were made to revive the 16 year old, but they were unsuccessful.

It is believed Jett fell and hit his head on the Hotel’s bathtub during the seizure. Jett had a history of seizures and there have been reports he was autistic or suffered from Kawasaki Syndrome, a condition that can lead to heart disease.

John Travolta has reportedly snubbed an upcoming sequel to the movie Hairspray, according to Starpulse. I haven’t seen the movie, but he received some rave reviews for his role as Edna Turnblad.

Although he says he’s just not a fan of movie sequels, perhaps he just doesn’t want to cross-dress in public anymore. Boo!
