Hilary Duff Lights Up The Empire State Building

Yesterday Hilary Duff attended a lighting ceremony at the Empire State Building where the tower will shine red for AIDS Walk New York to honour those living and fighting to stop HIV/AIDS.

She’s such a cutie, but I don’t think the skinny jeans do her justice. She needs to pitch them in the trash and never think about them again.

Hilary Duff Gets A Tattoo

Hilary Duff got herself a new accessory, a tattoo with the words “Let It Be” above her ankle. She showed off her new ink when she hosted the Herve Leger by Max Azria Celebration at LIVE! On Sunset in LA earlier this week.

“I wanted a tattoo, and you only live once. Someone came to my house, and my Mom and I did it together with a few of our friends,” Hilary explained.

And her inspiration for the tattoo:

crazy all around me, and I get stressed out. It’s like, I’m just one little person, let it be. And that’s what it is!”

At least she had an idea behind the tattoo, a lot of people just walk in and have the first thing they see inked on them.

Gabber Quote of the Day

“I think that my fans that are going to go see the movie don’t even know who she is. I think [what Faye said] was a little unnecessary, but I might be mad if I looked like that now too.”

~Sweet Hilary Duff was pissed that Faye Dunaway slammed Hilary as the choice for the role as Bonnie in the remake of Bonnie and Clyde. Dunaway had said: “Couldn’t they have at least cast a real actress?”

Hilary Duff: “I Did Not Say I Was A Virgin!”

Hilary Duff graces the cover of Maxim’s Jan. 2009 cover and in an insightful interview with the magazine she sets the record straight on being quoted as saying she was a virgin back in 2006.

“You know what? I was quoted saying I was a virgin, but I absolutely did not say that. That’s nobody’s business but my own. Somehow it turned into a bad thing!”

She also talks about the worst thing ever written about her:

“I’ve been accused by the press of giving lap dances at clubs. I mean, little ol’ me? It’s shocking. People love to believe it—it’s way more exciting to talk about than the truth! And they’re so descriptive about these lap dances. I don’t even know how to do a lap dance!”

Poor sweet and innocent Hilary, I’m glad she can pick herself up after these misquotes and ugly things people write about her.

Hilary Duff Wants a Big Girl’s Role

Hilary Duff is all grown up and says she’s ready to be on the small screen again, more specifically on NBC. She told Tim Kash at Total Finale Live:

“Well, right now it’s a development deal. We’re going to be working together to try to put a great show together. It’s not like I know what the material is going to be yet.”

Duff joked:

“I get to call all the shots! I think I would like to do something funny, so probably a comedy. It’s hard to sit here and say, ‘I want to be this character and this character.’

I would like to do something funny … or I would like to kick ass or something, [I'd want to] be some kind of ? not a superhero, but some young person that’s empowering and that does something no one expects from her, like take care of problems.”

Hillary said she’s also interested in doing some guest appearances:

“[NBC has] great shows to have arcs on. I would love to do something on ‘The Office.’ ‘30 Rock’ is great, very funny. Many people have done lots of guest spots on it this season.”

It’s hard to imagine her on a TV show like “The Office” rather than doing “Lizzie Maguire,” so it’s going to take some getting used to if she does a more adult-type role.

Hilary Duff Advocates for Gay Respect

I’m really impressed with Hilary Duff for taking part of an ad campaign to create awareness amongst teenagers about gay bashing. Hilary has signed on with America’s Gay Lesbian & Straight Education Network in a campaign which aims to shame teens into becoming more respectful towards gay people, according to Starpulse.

In the video clip above, two teens describe an ugly dress as “so gay” and Hilary points out:

“You know, you really shouldn’t say that something’s gay when you mean it’s bad - it’s insulting.”

Hilary states:

“Nobody says it meaning to hurt someone’s feelings but it can really make an impact on someone.”

Hilary has earned some respect in my book. Let’s hope that everyone learns that it’s not cool to be homophobic!

Celebrity Wedding Involving Jessica Biel and Hilary Duff

Unfortunately it’s not Jessica Biel and Hilary Duff getting married to themselves or their boyfriends, it’s just them being part of a wedding for Beverley Mitchell. The 7th Heaven actress reportedly asked Jessica Biel, Hilary Duff, and Haylie Duff to be bridesmaids when she gets hitched next month.

Beverley and Michael Cameron will walk down the aisle in Italy.

Apparently, expected guests include Justin Timberlake and his former boyband friends from ‘N Sync: Joey Fatone and Lance Bass. Since this seems like a mini-reunion, I wonder if they’ll dare sing a song for the bride & groom.

Congrats go out to Beverley and Michael.
