Sarah Palin is resigning as governor of Alaska and is not interested in seeking a second term, according to CBS News. The controversial governor announced the news that she’s resigning within a few weeks at a press conference.

The governor “said that the power will be transferred to Lt. Governor Sean Parnell,” but she would not answer any questions about her future plans.

Either a new scandal is brewing or she’s getting herself ready for the 2012 presidential elections already. Let’s hope it’s a new scandal!

Former boxing champion and Managua Mayor Alexis Arguello was found dead at his home today, July 1, 2009. La Prensa newspaper reported that Arguello was found with a gunshot wound to the chest. However, the cause of death is yet to be determined until an autopsy is completed.

As a mayor, shouldn’t he have had some good security? Wow, that’s pretty scary!

Anna Kournikova was partying with friends at Lavo nightclub in Vegas when a girl at the table next to hers threw a drink at her Saturday night. Anna decided that wasn’t cool and immediately jumped up and started shoving and screaming at the girl.

“She felt Anna was invading her space,” a source said. “Kournikova “sprung into action” and starting screaming at the woman and shoving her.”

“It was a big fight,” the spy said. “The woman was kicked out only after leaving Kournikova with some vicious scratch marks on her neck.”

I’d be pissed to if someone threw a drink at me for no good reason!

A private funeral has been planned for Farrah Fawcett at Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels on Tuesday at 4pm. The service will be closed to the public, giving her family and friends a chance to say their goodbyes.

A source is also telling E! that a similar exclusive memorial will be held Tuesday at the oceanside Jonathan Club in Santa Monica. Farrah passed away Thursday after a long battle with anal cancer, her longtime love Ryan O’Neal and close friend Alana Stewart were by her side.

Michael Jackson was rushed to the hospital earlier today after collapsing in his home.

“The call came in because a person was not breathing,” says a spokesman for the Los Angeles City Fire Department

“When the team arrived, they saw that CPR was already in progress by someone at the home. The person not breathing was transported to UCLA Medical Center and remains there.”

How scary! His family has been notified and are on their way to the hospital.

Farrah Fawcett’s health has taken a turn for the worse, according to NY Daily News. Her family and friends are said to by her bedside and Extra reported that a Catholic priest was called to the hospital to give Farrah Fawcett her last rites.
