U2 Announced The 360° Tour Dates

At 8 AM Dublin time, U2 announced the 360° Tour.  However, not all tour dates are listed yet.

According to Contact Music, The Edge stated:

“We’re very excited about the idea to go on the road with this album. It’s an album that I think is going to translate so well to the live context. The songs we’ve tried in rehearsal are sounding fantastic, so that’s got everyone really fired up.”

The tour is going to take place in stadiums.  While I prefer they do shows at arenas in North America instead of stadiums, it’s always a treat to see them any way possible.

U2 Read Top Ten List On David Letterman

U2 are the musical guests on David Letterman all week. And tonight, Letterman let them read the top ten list: “Top Ten Things U2 Has Learned Over the Years

My favorite one was when The Edge was supposed to say:

“Cool name The Edge, uncool name The Itch”

But instead, he said:

“Cool name The Edge, uncool name Sting”

Ouch!

Click on the video above to watch Bono, The Edge, Larry and Adam read the top ten list.

U2 members: Bono, The Edge, Larry Mullen Jr., and Adam Clayton were with New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg to unveiling of the U2 Way street sign on Broadway across West 53rd Street to celebrate U2’s weeklong gig on CBS’ Late Show With David Letterman. Very cool!

U2 Nearly Broke Up Over Political Campaigning

U2 almost split up over frontman Bono’s political campaigning, according to Contact Music.

Larry Mullen Jr admitted that Bono’s involvement “makes him ‘cringe.’” The Edge found it “uncool” for Bono to meet with President Bush. However, the guys have worked through it and stood by each other. Bono said:

“It’s dangerous. And it worries Larry, and it worries the whole band, if truth be told. But, you know, here’s the thing - they thought, all of them, Larry, Edge, Adam, that my campaigning would sink the ship.

Edge pleaded with me right at the start not to meet Bush. (But) when I’m with U2 doing U2 work, they have me 100 per cent or we would not be here now. I give my time to my family, my band and my interest in the wide world. It all seems to be fuel for me.”

I often wondered how the other guys, Larry Mullen, The Edge, and Adam Clayton felt about him getting so involved with the world affairs. I have to admit, when I heard that Bono was meeting with Dubya, that made me cringe too. Glad the guys are still together!
