David Archuleta may still be on 19 Recordings roster but he’s already signed up with Azoff Management. I wonder how 19 will feel about that? His first album, by Jive Records will his stores November 11. Azoff is known for their singers like Christina Aguilera and New Kids on the Block. Apparently there won’t be hard feelings as 19 Entertainment actually passed on him according to Inside Hollywood.

19 Entertainment gets first dibs on Idol finalists for management, but the company apparently passed on Archuleta, while signing winner David Cook (a 19 representative declined to comment).

So what does this all mean? One thing, David’s dad, Jeff, will be his co-manager. Eeek! Remember how he was on American Idol? That poor kid, I guess that’s one way to live your fantasy…through your kid. Congrats to David though!

Little David Archuleta is going to star in an episode of iCarly, Nickelodeon confirmed to Usmagazine.com. The American Idol wannabe will play a contestant in a singing competition “America Sings.” Oooh, now that’s a stretch, isn’t it?

I wonder if Daddy Archuleta will be at the studios when he films too.

Former American Idol wannabe Clay Aiken has decided to come out of the closet, according to the Associated Press. While his sexuality would probably be a surprise to no one, at least he’s comfortable enough to not deny it any longer. The new People magazine’s cover shows Clay holding his baby son, Parker Foster Aiken with the heading:

“Yes, I’m Gay. I cannot raise a child to lie or hide things.”

It must have been really difficult for him to be open about his sexuality for fear he’d lose fans. It’ll be interesting if he ends up losing any claymates over the news. The admission may have turned some of them off. For many folks, they like to live by the motto:

“Ignorance is bliss.”

Former American Idol wannabe-turned-Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson is getting hitched to boyfriend David Otunga. MTV News reports that the couple’s rep confirmed to People magazine:

“I can confirm that Jennifer got engaged to her boyfriend David on Friday night in L.A.”

Otunga is also known as “Punk” from the reality TV show I Love New York 2. The lovebirds have only been dating for less than a year. It sounds like Otunga found himself a sugar mama!

I wonder what ever happened to her longtime ex-boyfriend James Payton. He’s probably wishing he proposed a while back now.

In an interview to PopEater.com Pink said that if she was writing a letter to Vice President candidate Sarah Palin she would have asked her:

“Who are you? Do you know? Why do you hate animals? Please point out Iraq on a map …”

She also went on saying that Palin is not a feminist:

“This woman hates women. She is not a feminist. She is not the woman that’s going to come behind Hillary Clinton and do anything that Hillary Clinton would’ve been capable of … I can’t imagine overturning Roe vs. Wade. She’s not of this time. The woman terrifies me.”

I couldn’t agree with her more. It seems like Palin is not only not for women but she also wants to take some of women rights. Being against abortion even when a woman was a victim of rape or incest is beyond my understanding.

Last night, I actually missed watching the Democratic National Convention (DNC) with presidential candidate Barack Obama’s speech because I was at a concert, but I just had to look up and see how Jennifer Hudson performed the national anthem. U.S. Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson looked really moved. I bet she was nervous to go up there in front of all those people and say the Pledge of Allegiance. How cute.

Getting back to Jennifer, how do you think the former American Idol wannabe and Oscar winner sang? It sounded very raw and heartfelt to me. I think she did an amazing job.

I can’t believe Jennifer Hudson had the guts to go out there barefoot though. Did she lose her shoes on the way there or something?

Past American Idol winner Ruben Studdard has a hefty bill on his hands now as he’s been ordered to pay $200,000 for unpaid taxes, according to Contact Music.

Court records indicate that tax liens have been filed on Ruben’s property for local and federal taxes that have been unpaid. Ouch!

I wonder if Ruben has any money left these days because his last album didn’t do so hot and he was dumped by his label.
