Zombieland Number One At The Weekend Box Office
Everyone flocked to theaters to see Woody Harrelson in Zombieland this weekend, I can’t say I blame them zombie movies are always fun to watch. Zombieland raked in $25.0 million followed by Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs which earned $16.7 million bringing it’s total as of yet to a cool $82.3 million.
The kiddie movies have ruled this year at the box office and continue to do so with Toy Story/Toy Story 2 landing in the number three spot earning $12.5 million over the weekend. I’m sure Jim Carey’s A Christmas Carol will also do very well when it opens in November.
Unfortunately Drew Barrymore’s Whip It didn’t do so well falling in the number 6 spot with $4.8 million, I was hoping this movie would do better. It looks like a good chick flick and I guess I figured girls everywhere would drag their boyfriends to the theater and force them to sit through it. Looks like Zombieland was the better movie to see.
Here’s a look at estimated weekend box office ticket sales according to Box Office Mojo:
1. Zombieland: $25.0 million
2. Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs: $16.7
3. Toy Story/Toy Story 2: $12.5 million
4. The Invention of Lying: $7.3 milliion
5. Surrogates: $7.3 million
6. Whip It: $4.8 million
7. Capitalism: A Love Story: $4.8 million

All right, this makes me want to see Zombieland. My boyfriend was just talking about it but I ignored him because I thought it was a horror horror movie. Haha
