Dannii Minogue Gets Slammed By Simon Cowell
Dannii Minogue was rightfully chided by X Factor boss Simon Cowell on Saturday night, October 10, 2009 after she stupidly commented about a contestant’s rumored sexuality. Contact Music reported that Dannii Minogue remarked about Danyl Johnon’s performance of Jennifer Hudson’s “I’m Telling You” because he changed the song to make it appropriate for a male singer:
“If we’re to believe what we read in the papers, there was no need to switch the gender reference in the song.”
Cowell was outraged and said to Minogue:
“What did you say? I’m not having you play games with him. He’s a good guy. He deserves a break.”
Not surprisingly, many viewers have been calling in to complain and ask that Minogue be fired.
A contestant’s sexuality shouldn’t be up for judgment when he/she performs for a talent competition. Kudos to Cowell for slamming Minogue for her idiotic comments.
