Billy Ray Cyrus Says Miley Cyrus’ Pole Dancing Wasn’t Controversial
It may have taken a couple of weeks, but Billy Ray Cyrus is speaking out saying his daughter Miley Cyrus’ pole dancing at the Teen Choice Awards was not that controversial.
“You know what? I just think that Miley loves entertaining people,” he told Access Hollywood on Thursday. “She loves singing [and] songwriting.”
“I always tell her to love what you’re doing and stay focused for the love of the art and not worry so much about opinion,” he says.
It’s one thing to give your kids the freedom to make the art they wanna, but it’s another to let your 16 year old dance provocatively on a stripper pole in front of millions.

uh, where was the pole dancing? All I saw was her do like 2 squat like moves and get pushed acrss stage once? was that the controversial part? If so then big deal, I think she has done waaay more controversial things then that.
