Taco Bell Dog Dies
That cute Chihuahua, Gidget, who starred in a a series of Taco Bell commercials has died. The dog suffered a stroke at the age of 15 while resting comfortably in semi retirement.
Gidget portrayed a male dog making the phrase “Yo quiero Taco Bell” famous and Argentine American actor Carlos Alazraqui was responsible for the voice. You may know Carlos from Reno 911 where he plays Deputy James Garcia.
“She made so many people happy,” Gidget’s trainer Sue Chipperton told People Pets. ”She was a consummate professional on the set.”
Unfortunately Gidget was a victim to typecasting and her roles were limited, but she will always be a part of the pop culture of the 90’s. RIP Gidget.
