Steve McNair, former NFL quarterback for the Tennessee Titans, was found dead with a gunshot would to the head on Saturday afternoon, July 4, 2009, in Nashville, Tennessee, according to the Associated Press. Police reported that a woman was also shot to death.

Police rep Don Aaron said that they “tentatively identified the woman,” but chose not to release her name. The woman found was not McNair’s wife, Mechelle McNair though. Aaron said:

“I don’t have any answers for you now as to what’s happened, who’s responsible.

There are persons who were around the complex today, visitors, who have been taken to headquarters for questioning, just to see what they know, what they may have seen.”

Aaron added:

“When police officers arrived in response to that call, they found two individuals who had been shot to death inside the residence.”

How sad! He was only 36. I wonder what went wrong. Stay tuned for more info about McNair’s shocking death.

UPDATE: TMZ posted some photos of Steve McNair and his “friend” Sahel Kazemi (who was also found dead) yesterday and reported and update about their deaths:

Detectives for the Nashville PD say they’ve been told McNair and Kazemi “had been in a dating relationship” for several months. And while it is clear they can rule McNair’s death a homicide, detectives have not yet classified Kazemi’s death, pending further investigation.
