Lance Armstrong Has Strong Start In Tour de France Comeback

Lance Armstrong had a strong start yesterday in his Tour de France comeback, briefly taking the lead in the first stage of the race. Here’s what he tweeted on his Twitter page:
“Stage One done,” seven-time Tour champion Tweeted after finishing the first stage time trials. “Started conservative and we tried to come home strong.”
As Lance sped his new Trek TT bike through the winding hills and and roads in Monaco, all eyes were on him to see if he still had it in him. He made the trip, which is 9.6 miles, in 20 minutes 13 seconds remaining the best time of the day until a few riders eventually clocked better times.
And on winning that eighth Tour title?
“I didn’t have any big illusions.” he says ”Overall I’m happy with my ride, I’m ready for a hard three weeks.”
He’s only got over 2,000 miles and a few more countries to go through. We’ll be rooting for him!
