Rob Zombie Slams Adam Lambert

Rob Zombie is not a fan of American Idol and doesn’t think Adam Lambert is a rock star at all.

“I’m sure Adam can f–king sing 10 times better than Mick Jagger, but who gives a s–t,” Zombie told me the other day. “He ain’t f–king Mick Jagger. You know what I mean? There are probably a million guitar players in the world better than Keith Richards, but they ain’t f–king Keith Richards!”

“I’m not a big fan of the thought that you can become a star by winning a contest,” he said. “I’m sort of old-fashioned?I think people need to get out there and they need to work and they need to do their music because they love it.”

“If they become successful, then great, and if they are not, whatever?that’s the way the chips may fall. I just get disgusted watching people crying that it should have been them, that they’re a star, that they’re special,” he added. ”You know what? F–k you!”

That’s one way to look at it! I do agree with him, I’m sick of these Idol contestants thinking they’re all that and back mouth the judges when they give them feedback they don’t want to hear.

Well, Rob Zombie…times are a’changin’…people are discovered differently than they were back in Rob’s day. With reality shows, youtube.com, etc. there are more ways to reach people. I think Rob is the one that should stop crying.

I’m pretty much with Da Zomb on this one. These shows are a joke that produce pap for people who like pap.

And pleeeeese, there is zero reality in ‘reality’ shows.

I’d imagine the same thing happens when people tell you you’re a crappy writer.

Zombie may have been a little harsh but actually he’s VERY right. Just because someone is one of the best in something doesn’t necessarily make them a star or an artist that everyone will love over time. In reality, only a handful of people have really been REALLY been considered stars out of American Idol (Clarkson, Underwood, Aiken, and thats really it). The rest are pretty much not household names or just not selling at all.

Too long; didn’t read.

He’s blunt but has a point. Idol is a big middle finger to the people that busted ass trying to eek out a career as a musician. But the nice bit is that most of the winners have faded back into obscurity or were doomed to haunt the bargain bin for eternity.

I agree with Rob. Being in a local theatre sing show tunes done NOT make you the next Freddy Mercury. The times they ARE a’changin’, but not exactly for the better.

Leslie apparently is one of America’s millions of native born citizens who doesn’t think hard work amounts to much, which is the number one reason this country has become the sh*thole it is.

Ricardo Williams is pretty much on the money. Cream will rise to the top, and conversely, if an idol winner isn’t meant for stardom, they won’t succeed.

WHAT THE F*** IS WRONG WITH THIS ZOMBIE GUY?? A.I IS A PLATFORM TO ADAM.WHY HAVE TO FIND A HARD WAY WHILE YOU CAN FIND A SIMPLER WAY? WTF??!!

Get real, if getting discovered “the old way” is responsible for the crap we’ve been listening to over the past few decades, then good ridence to the old way.

It’s hyterical when uninformed folks make blanket criticisms of shows/artists they haven’t watched… they just look like big doofs.

Rock on Lambert!

To me, it doesn’t sound like Rob Zombie saw Adam on American Idol or in any interviews following the show. Adam spent 8 years in LA working his ass off because he loves music. When did Adam ever call himself a star or special, better than anyone else? He has proven in interview after interview to be appreciative and humble. And as for the editorial comment, Adam never back-talked the judges. He was always polite to them and seemed to appreciate any constructive criticism that he received. Just because he followed an unconventional path to become well known and jump start his career doesn’t mean he is not deserving of it.

“He ain’t f–king Mick Jagger. You know what I mean? - Umm, Adam’s not trying to be Mick Jagger - so where did Zombie get that?

“I’m not a big fan of the thought that you can become a star by winning a contest,” he said. “I’m sort of old-fashioned? I think people need to get out there and they need to work and they need to do their music because they love it.” LOL - he clearly did not watch the show, Adam DID NOT win, dumbass!! And Adam’s been out there doing his music thing for years before AI - duh. This was just a different venue for him.

“I just get disgusted watching people crying that it should have been them, that they’re a star, that they’re special,” - Who’s he talking about? Adam’s not once done this.

This is funny as shit - I’ve thought Zombie cool in the past, but he’s just made himself a dweeb here.

I think there is a lot of fear and jealousy out there.
Adam isn’t Jagger. Adam just is. And is is IT.
