American Idol 8 Elimination Results for April 8, 2009

Tonight’s special guest was Frankie Avalon. He performed “Venus” - he still sounds great! I missed who the second special guest Flo Rida who did a cover of Dead or Alive’s “You Spin Me Round” from the album R.O.O.T.S. Former American Idol wannabe Kellie Pickler was back to perform on the show, but I had to turn the sound down low. I can’t stand her singing.

The Bottom 3 wasn’t a surprise, even though my predictions were a little off:

  • Anoop Desai - even though he did really well last night, he has been pretty inconsistent with his performances and probably doesn’t have enough fans.
  • Scott McIntyre - the guitar playing didn’t pay off for him.
  • Lil Rounds - fans finally realize that she hasn’t been showing any star potential yet.

The person who received the lowest number of votes who was given the boot was:

  • Scott McIntyre - it’s too bad, I really like Scott…his performance last night just wasn’t good. The judges were split in their decision on whether or not to keep him around, but Simon Cowell made the decision to say it was over for him. He should’ve chosen a better song, but in the end, I don’t believe he had a chance of winning the competition anyway. Best of luck to Scott!

Anoop shouldn’t be in the bottom 3. Even if he’s being inconsistent with his previous performance, I believe that he has a great chance to win the American Idol. I really like that an Asian like him was included in the finals. Go Anoop. Of course, I also like Adam and Danny. Keep it up!

I don’t think Anoop should have been in the bottom three either. Did really good job on True Colors. But he is a little too frat boy…not edgy enough at times.

I thought Kris would be in the bottom. He seems so ordinary.
