Mel Gibson Explains Why He Reached Out To A Troubled Britney Spears
While on Jimmy Kimmel Live Mel Gibson explained why he reached out to Britney Spears during her troubled days.
“Well, she’s a nice kid… She was just going through a rough patch, so I figured… you look around and you see kids that, you know, in the industry and poor Heath,” Mel said. “I just felt like this poor kid, she’s lining up to be stoned. The press was going at her and everything. I just thought, ‘I wonder if anyone is actually reaching out to her,’ so I just called her and she’s doing great now.”
Mel hinted that Heath’s death contributed to his reaching out to Britney, he could see something similar happening to the popstar and felt the need to do what he could to prevent that. He may not have been the reason for her comeback, but at least he did the right thing.
