Kelly Clarkson Clueless About Clay Aiken Being Gay
Former American Idol Kelly Clarkson dished on Clay Aiken, insisting she had no idea that Clay Aiken was gay. Clarkson says she was “completely caught off guard” when he came out, according to Contact Music.
She told Attitude magazine:
“The funniest part was when Clay told me on tour and I honestly had no clue! I have zero Gaydar. No, I’ve actually dated someone and then they’ve told me later on that they actually had experimented and I was like “Really?
I would never have guessed that. I have the worst Gaydar in the world.
And he caught me off guard because he is very dirty! He says dirty jokes about girls, he’s got that Frasier wit, so smart. I didn’t see it coming. But I remember Clay told me one night on the bus, and I was like “What?” Not. A. Clue.”
WTF? Kelly must be pretty dense not to have had at least the slightest idea.

She’s known since 2004…when they toured…that’s when he told her. Maybe she was “clueless” because she isn’t into stereotypes. That would be refreshing, no? Just because someone is gay doesn’t mean “they” all look and act alike, for pete’s sake! That’s where the issues come into play…everyone is different, just like non-gay and varying ethnicities are all individuals. Perhaps Kelly was just seeing him as the witty, fun, bawdy guy…no need to label, based on assumptions. He told her the reality…sounds like a true friendship to me.
