Lil Wayne Gives Back to the Community in New Orleans

Lil Wayne, real name Dwayne Carter III, has reportedly donated $200,000 to help rebuild the playground he grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana, according to Contact Music.
The site was used as a trailer site for the local water board resulting in the track and field being “severely damaged” so the rapper donated the money through his organization One Family Foundation which aims to empower youth.
Lil Wayne told Louisiana’s WWLTV:
“You can’t really tell them (kids) what to do these days. When you tell them what to do, that’s when they get angry, when you tell them (to) be like me, because it’s hard to be like me. So, the best thing you can tell them is try to do right.”
Awesome! Let’s hope other celebrities from the city still suffering from Hurricane Katrina’s aftermath even years later will step forward to contribute as well.
