John Lennon Used for Charity Promoting Laptops for Poor Children

The late legendary Beatle John Lennon has been used to promote a charity to support a campaign to bring solar-powered laptops to the poorest children of the world this holiday season. The commercial was launched on Christmas Day this year, according to Contact Music. In the ad for “One Laptop per Child Foundation,” he says:
“Imagine every child no matter where in the world they were could access a universe of knowledge. They would have a chance to learn, to dream, to achieve anything they want.
I tried to do it through my music, but now you can do it in a very different way. You can give a child a laptop and more than imagine, you can change the world.”
The ad was launched on donated cable time. Check out the ad below:
While I’m all for promoting laptops for the poorest children of the world, the use of John Lennon’s image with that voice dubbed over seems so disrespectful to him. I wonder why they couldn’t have just used a bunch of his videos promoting peace and love and then at the end have Yoko Ono say the above message.

This is an abomination !! John Lennon is the greatest man who ever lived and that clown doing the voiceover doesn’t sound like him at all.
