George Takei Will Continue to Fight for Equality
The discriminatory initiative in California, Prop 8, has passed with 52% of the votes, but actor George Takei who married his longtime partner Brad Altman on September 14 isn’t giving up the fight towards equality. In fact, he says he’s “galvanized,” according to wjactv.com. Takei said:
“This may be the basis for taking it to the Supreme Court of the United States.”
Takei’s partner Altman stated:
no matter what happens, he won’t take off his wedding ring for the rest of his life. He said their relationship will “live long and prosper.”
An issue like this should never have went up for a vote in the first place. Let’s hope it doesn’t take too long to get this overturned again.
