Angelina Jolie Teaches Her Kids About Movie Violence vs Real Violence

Angelina Jolie says she’s teaching her kids the difference between real violence and movie violence.

“We don’t take war and violence lightly, but we don’t hide it from anybody,” the actress tells British Harper’s Bazaar for its December issue. “Listen, my kids play video games. I let them play with toy soldiers.”

“We say, ‘Mommy and Daddy have movies where we play these characters, but there’s real death and real violence in the world,’” says Jolie, who has six kids with Brad Pitt. “There’s a real responsibility there to create in their minds the difference between the two.”

I think it’s good to keep your children informed on what’s make believe and whats not, but in a way that wont frighten them.

I think it’s great that she’s taking the time to explain to her kids the difference between violence in the movies and violence in real-life. It’s nice to hear something positive coming from such a pretty woman.

Until one day when one of her children asks: Mommy, if violence is bad, then why do you and daddy glorify it and turn it into entertainment?
