Zac Efron turned 21 over the weekend and how do you think he celebrated? No, he didn’t get smashed and have a bunch of pictures leaked to the media like many celebrities do. According to People Magazine, he kept it simple, his girlfriend, Vanessa Hudgens, set up a surprise party at L.A.’s Pace restaurant. This was a quiet affair where close friends, family and a few co-stars met up.

…a group of friends and family that included his parents and brother, girlfriend Vanessa Hugens, HSM3 costars Monique Coleman and Ashley Tisdale, her boyfriend Jared Murillo and pals Michelle Trachtenberg, Amanda Bynes, Brittany Snow and singing sisters Aly and AJ Michalka. 

As for what he wore, it wasn’t some suit and tie like some would’ve hoped for. Instead he took everything in casual with his jeans and t-shirt. Course Vanessa wore a mini dress and everyone brought a gift, some did include alcoholic beverages but those were taken back to an afterparty at a nearby hotel. Hey, at least they stayed smart about it.

Costar KayCee Stroh echoed Efron’s desire for a low-key celebration. “We’re definitely going to party it up,” she said. “But he’s that guy that would rather sit down with friends and have a good discussion than deal with the craziness.”

Sorry girls, you won’t catch Zac out of his clothes or doing any crazy stuff, he’s just not into that.
