Iron Maiden Rocker Saves the Day for British Tourists

Iron Maiden’s lead singer Bruce Dickinson is being called a hero again after flying to rescue 221 British tourists who were stranded when a major airline went bankrupt, according to Female First. Dickinson is a trained commercial jet pilot for Astraeus airline who went to Egypt to pick up hundreds of tourists on Saturday after they had no idea how they were going to get home. Dickinson said:
“I was just doing my job. I was called out, like a lot of other pilots, to help and I was obviously happy to do that. Some of the people on the flight were obviously frustrated by the situation they had found themselves in, but everyone was pretty good-natured about it all. “
Apparently Dickinson was hailed a hero recently for flying bringing British troops home from Afghanistan.
Very cool - I didn’t know he was a pilot too! Dickinson was just doing his job, but he certainly made a lot of frustrated travelers pretty happy at the same time.
