Ellen DeGeneres Turned Down Offers from George Michael and Justin Timberlake?
Ellen DeGeneres revealed that she and wife Portia de Rossi turned down George Michael and Justin Timberlake to sing at their wedding, according to Contact Music. JT even offered to write a new song for them, but Ellen explained that after they decided to only have an intimate family wedding, the thought of having huge celebrities singing for them seemed strange. Ellen explained:
“We called and disinvited everyone. They totally understood.”
Ellen and Portia decided to have Joshua Radin perform at the wedding. Ellen said:
“He was fantastic and was so thrilled and honoured.”
I had never heard of Joshua Radin before, but they made the right choice not to have JT sing at their wedding. It would’ve been this media spectacle and their day would’ve been shared with him in the news. Plus, Joshua Radin sounds way better! Check out his video of one of his beautiful songs “Closer” here.
