Robert Downey Jr Criticizes The Dark Knight

Robert Downey Jr. said The Dark Knight is too complicated, according to Female First. The Iron Man star explained he didn’t enjoy watching the latest Batman movie with Christian Bale and Heath Ledger because he didn’t understand it. He said:

“My whole thing is that I saw ‘The Dark Knight’ and I feel like I’m dumb because I feel I don’t get many things that are so smart. It’s like a Ferrari engine of storytelling and script writing and I’m like, ‘That’s not my idea of what I want to see in a movie.’ I loved ‘The Prestige’ but didn’t understand ‘The Dark Knight’. Didn’t get it, still can’t tell you what happened in the movie, what happened to the character and in the end they need him to be a bad guy. I’m like, ‘I get it. This is so high brow and so f**king smart, I clearly need a college education to understand this movie.”

Meanwhile many people don’t get the humor in the controversial new movie Tropic Thunder in which he stars with Ben Stiller, Jack Black and Tom Cruise. Protesters have been challenging the repeated use of the word “retard” to describe a character as they feel this is offensive to people with learning disabilities. I find the word offensive too, however, I haven’t seen the movie and don’t understand the context in which they tried to use it to be funny.

I don’t understand Roberto’s lip pubic hair, but you don’t see me going all public about it.

Maybe if he had some brain cells left over from all that drug abuse, he could understand like all the other bazillions of people who have seen it and thought it was worth it to see it again.

What a nasty comment, I thought the movie was perfect in anyway. How can he not understand it? Perhaps he`s just not all that happy with all the success the movie the dark knight has.

He’s just pissed his limelight as hero of the summer was made out to look like an ad for a kid’s cartoon show in front of The Dark Knight.
