Ricky Martin Gets Slammed By Latino Catholic Cardinal Over Twins

Not everyone is happy with Ricky Martin’s baby news. Contact Music reports that a Catholic cardinal of Honduras, Oscar Andres Rodriguez has slammed the singer, saying:

“What Martin did diminishes the dignity of a human being. You can’t just buy or rent life. It’s even worse when someone famous and in the public eye is doing it.”

It was revealed last week that Ricky fathered twin boys. The surrogate mother is rumored to be Ricky’s cousin.

Mexican talk show host Esteban Arce has also revealed his disapproval of Ricky’s new role as father:

“I don’t think it’s right to deny children of maternal figures, just because you have a big ego.”

It’s sad that there are so many people out there who have to slam him over this and it’s more so because he’s a single guy who’s rumored to be gay. There are so many others who use surrogates (like Kelsey Grammer) to have a family, but they don’t get this level of criticism.

The thing is that not all two parent homes are blessed and successful. The turmoil of two that don’t get along is worse than the comfort of a single parent home full of love. And also, all the talk of needing them both…what if one dies? You have to go out and replace them because it.must.be.two?? There is no other way to teach a child about the different views or ways of opposite sexes? Ridiculous. And when that Catholic dude actually raises a child on his own he can speak. Until then, sthu. Thankee.

The catholic church will always be angry at somebody for something. Their exclusionary tactics have worn a hole in their followers to the point that it will dwindle to be a crappy museum in a country of museums, only they’ll have a pointless pontiff.

The popemobile has bullet-proof glass because you can’t just pray and get something or prevent something. You have to trust something. If the pope doesn’t trust in his divine father could someone else, really?
