Katie Perry Ties with the Beatles for Number One Song
This is disturbing - Katy Perry has tied with The Beatles for the longest-running number one song on the rock charts, according to Female First.
Apparently, the song “I Kissed a Girl” led Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart for its seventh week on Thursday and has now tied with The Beatles in becoming the longest-running number one hit. “I Want to Hold Your Hand” was number one for seven weeks in 1964.
Are people’s tastes in music just getting worse over the years or what? There have been so many other songs that could’ve been long running hits, but it has to be this one? Yuck.

Hey, may want to re-read the article - it says that it’s the longest running #1 song to come from her record label, not for all time. Mariah Carey & Boyz II Men have the record with 16 weeks at #1.
