Kaiser Chiefs Accuse Noel Gallagher of Seeking Publicity

A new day brings on criticism for Oasis star Noel Gallagher to bestow on other musicians. It appears that Oasis rockers thrive on slamming others to get attention, according to Contact Music. Gallagher picked on the Kaiser Chiefs in an interview when he spoke to Radio 1’s Chris Moyles saying the Monkees had not split up and were:

“just going under the name of the Kaiser Chiefs.”

He added:

“I did drugs for 18 years and I never got that bad as to say, ‘You know what? I think the Kaiser Chiefs are brilliant’.”

When Kaiser Chiefs drummer Nick Hodgson was asked about what Gallagher had to say about them, he told Radio 1 Newsbeat:

“We’re definitely not offended. I do actually like it, I think it’s a bit of sport. It is funny though, because it does happen [Gallagher criticizing other bands] every single time they put out an album. And the last two albums it’s been us [who have been targeted].”

Hodgson explained jokingly:

“When I was 17 and Noel was going on about Blur I was watching it, and now I’m 30 and he’s 50 and he’s talking about us, it’s brilliant.”

What a way to get publicity - too bad Oasis can’t just put out good music and shut the f**k up about other bands and singers. I love the Kaiser Chiefs - I think they’re brilliant!
