Joe Biden Chosen as Barack Obama’s Running Mate
Senator Joe Biden was selected to by Democratic presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama to be his vice presidential running mate, according to the Telegraph.
Obama recently explained what type of person he was looking for in a running mate:
“Obviously, the most important question is: Is this person ready to be president? Can this person help me govern?. I want somebody who is going to be able to challenge my thinking and not simply be a ‘yes person’ when it comes to policy making.”
Hillary Clinton issued a statement praising Obama’s choice, describing Biden as “an exceptionally strong, experienced leader and devoted public servant.”
While I’m not too surprised Obama didn’t choose Clinton, it’s still a little disappointing. I do think Biden is a good choice as he is very experienced in foreign policy, but the question remains if Clinton supporters will accept this decision and support Obama’s campaign now. This race is too important to choose not to vote though.
