Isaac Hayes Died at Age 65
This is such a sad weekend! I was upset enough about the news of comedian Bernie Mac’s death, but now, soul legend Isaac Hayes has also died earlier this morning, Sunday, August 10, 2008 at a Memphis, Tennessee hospital. According to reports, Hayes was found by his wife lying near a treadmill in their home.
Although police do not believe foul play was a factor in his death, they’re conducting an investigation.
Hayes became famous with the release of his album Hot Buttered Soul in 1969 and then hit number one with the 1971 Grammy Award song from Shaft. His hits included singles: Hold On, I’m Coming and Soul Man. Hayes was also heard on Nickelodeon’s Nick at Nite TV program and South Park.
R.I.P. Mr. Hayes. You will be sorely missed.
