Bryan Ferry to Be Named an Icon
Bryan Ferry will get some recognition as an icon by Broadcast Music Inc (BMI) at an awards ceremony in London, according to Contact Music.
BMI explained that the icon status is given to songwriters who’ve bestowed “a unique and indelible influence on generations of music makers”. Ferry began his music career in the early 1970s with Roxy music before moving on as a solo artist and will now join other musicians who’ve received the icon status, such as: Peter Gabriel, Van Morrison, the Bee Gees, Dolly Parton, and Paul Simon.
