Terrence Kiel, Former San Diego Chargers Player Died in Crash

Troubled former football player for the San Diego Chargers, Terrence Kiel has reportedly died in a car accident, according to the Associated Press. Police Sgt. Alan Hayward reported that the 27-year-old drove alone in a Chevy Sedan about 10:15 on Friday night in San Diego’s Scripps Ranch when he hit a wall and was thrown from his car.

When paramedics arrived to the scene, he was barely breathing and died an hour later.

Kiel had plead guilty to felony and misdemeanor drug charges for shipping prescription cough syrup to Texas in February 2007. He was booted from the Chargers after his plea, but played with the team for four years.

How terribly sad and tragic. My thoughts and sympathies go out to his family, friends, fans and former teammates.
