George Lopez explains how film is biased against Latinos.

1 babblicious comments:
I call bullshit on George Lopez. I think the reason that Latinos are “under represented” has a lot to do with the fact that there aren’t many Latino producers, directors and screenwriters.
As I writer, I don’t ever write a character as a certain ethnicity unless it is a critical to the story because personally I want the actor that’s the best fit for the part. I doubt I’d ever cast George Lopez though, because he’s just not a very good actor.
Want more Latinos in film? Get more Latinos MAKING films. I’d love to see more films about Latino culture but as a “White Devil” I don’t think I’m qualified to tell those stories and I’d be afraid of insulting my audience.
Oh, and lending your voice to insulting stereotypical content such as BEVERLY HILLS CHIHUAHUA ain’t helping your case.
