Alanis Morisette Reveals Embarrassing Moment at the Vatican

Alanis Morissette revealed that when she went to visit The Pope, she wasn’t sure of the protocol. She didn’t know whether or not to walk in front of the cardinals at the Vatican and she overheard the French clergymen discussing how rude she was, not realizing she could understand them. She explained:
“I’m post-Catholic; I don’t know how it works anymore, so there was this awkward moment and I walked in front of them. They were all French and they were speaking about me behind me, saying how rude and horrible I was. I speak French, so I bit my tongue the whole way out and they were just ripping me apart, and then right at the tail end… I just turned back and spoke to them in French and said, ‘Thank you so much for your kindness.’”
Good for her to embarrass them for being asses! I wonder why someone didn’t explain to her the etiquette of where to walk, etc. I’m sure most people who aren’t from there don’t know what to do in those situations, I certainly wouldn’t.
