Jerry Cole, Beach Boys Collaborator Died at Age 68

Jerry Cole, collaborator for the Beach Boys and Byrds has reportedly died of a heart attack at age 68. Jerry became a renowned space-age surf music guru in the 1960s as the leader of the Spacemen and a member of producer Phil Spector’s Wrecking Crew studio collective.

The guitarist also performed on the Beach Boys’ Pet Sounds album and on the Byrds’ Mr. Tambourine Man.

Cole was inducted into the inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame in 2004.

How sad, Jerry left us much too soon.
