Whether Ruslana Korshunova killed herself or not remains to be seen. Deliberately throwing oneself off a balcony is not generally the method of choice.
No one really wants to die. People only think of suicide when they feel they don’t have any other choice and most do not commit suicide in private where nobody knows. Telling is telling-revealing. Most talk about wanting to die, because they want someone to give them a way out other than death. Most people commit suicide because they’re in pain.

The teenage years especially are times of emotional transition. There’s a lot of having to grow up all at once that takes place. Suddenly, there are more responsibilities. There’s high school and the thought of college. When we go to school as teens, there’s no longer the sameness of sitting in one classroom with the same kids and the same teacher everyday. Now, we have to race from class to class. Everything is different. And then there’s sex and that’s all confusing. I mean, not long ago we used to hate the opposite sex or at least we pretended to and now we’re not only supposed to be liking them, but maybe or maybe not getting parts of our body invaded by them and all of those other things that seemed so unthinkable when we first learned about the facts of life. Our bodies change. Our minds change. But we are all immature. We don’t know how to handle situations. We don’t even know how to handle the thoughts that go through our minds. We feel awkward about relationships. We don’t know what we feel. But in it all, there is an awful aloneness, no matter how popular we seem to be.
Most of us can handle it. But some of us, a lot of us, can’t. Each of us has felt suicidal at some point in our teens and the ones who don’t are liars. We all cry. We each hurt. But most of us have friends that are there for us to help us through those times. Teens do kill themselves. It happens a lot more often than it should. It happens because no one was there with them at the right time to say just the right words. But it’s important to talk. It’s important to hold and to be held. It’s important to cry and let it all out. Things always change. The light at the end of the tunnel isn’t always an oncoming train. If you’re feeling suicidal, seek someone out. Sleep helps if you’re alone. You will feel better afterwards. And if you know a teen who’s talking about death, see if you can get his or her parents to help, Counseling is beneficial, but it isn’t a cure. Direction is. Give someone a reason to live and death becomes unthinkable. Joke with them. Make them laugh. Make them see something special in themselves.
Geraldo isn’t a journalist. Geraldo is a jerk. I didn’t even know who Ruslana was until today, then I saw the Geraldo footage. Geraldo will exploit anything.
I wish someone would investigate if she had started an SSRI psychotropic drug like Prozac or Lexapro. These drugs are known to cause hypomania, akathasia (agitation, restlessness)and suicide ideation that can result. No one has looked into this? Had any doctor prescribed her such drugs, given her samples, etc? It is in the beginning, stopping, and changing levels that such tragedies can result.
i don’t feel as if it went over the line… i was surprised to an extent, but then again, i wasn’t surprised because it’s today’s society and we want to see these sort of things. i’m sympathetic for her family and friends, but i don’t feel as if geraldo went over the line.
Absolutely disgusting! Geraldo has always been a heartless reporter with no kind of compassion for news stories that need it.
I do believe there is some kind of foul play in this situation. It’s a sad situation that needs to be highly investigated.
The poor girl. Her poor relatives and friends having to see her being wrapped up in blankets on the street like that. Geraldo, you should be ashamed. You’re a sick man. You need therapy.
Geraldo did NOT cross the line. The news coverage was just that, and was not in poor taste or disrespectful to the dead young lady in any way. He was simply reporting news on a very sad occurence, and showing photos or footage is not inappropriate in news coverage, nor was it over-the-top gross. People should lay off Geraldo; he takes a lot of crap from people for doing comprehensive news coverage.

I’m sorry but “comprehensive news coverage” is not showing a dead girl’s body that has been slammed into the sidewalk and I doubt people looking for “comprehensive news coverage” wanted or needed to see that to feel like they were getting the whole story .
I hate to say it. I normally find this type of footage to be disgusting, but the model’s dead face is not the worst we have seen from any news footage, raw or not. This just happens to be a very public story. I have seen so many different footage on the news of random people dead, but all of a sudden people are vocal about it because it involves a “known” beauty. Would she have gotten as much coverage if she were the average Joe? Would people be so vocal if they showed the saw footage of the girl next door? Just something to think about.
Showing a dead body on the pavement is okay but showing two people f**king is not? It amazes me what is deemed acceptable in our society. I would rather watch two people, man and woman, man and man or woman and woman f**king than see a dead body on my screen. You can see this poor woman’s face. It is irresponsible journalism, if you want to call it that, more like sensationalism. In this era of shock and awe, we are a lot closer to Series 7 than we think (look it up on IMDB, it’s a movie).

Should not have watched it. I am sad I saw this video. The most disturbing thing to me is seeing her put on the sheet and her (likely broken) hands and arms just flop like a frail crushed bird. As a mom, all I can think of is my daughter and my heart is broken thinking that her mom might see the same thing some day
I saw this footage of Ruslana Korshunova.I was surprised that someone would allow it to be aired on television.This young lady has loved ones that could of viewed this.The general news watching public did not need to see this poor young woman.Please exercise more caution in news coverage.
Bad situation but i dont think geraldo did it in purpose after all he is not holding the camera. Blame the network for years now Fox has pulled more stunts than a magician but no one spoke up all of a sudden a glimpse of a dead model appear and people are ready to raise hell. You reap what you sow people next time it may be your family member but it wont stop you from watching Fox or Geraldo so sit there and bitch about Geraldo meanwhile you will tune into Fox tonight for the news.
