Johnny Rzeznik Honored with Hal David Starlight Award
photo courtesy of PR Photos/www.prphotos.comJohnny Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls is going to be honored with the Hal David Starlight Award at the upcoming Songwriters Hall of Fame Gala on June 19, 2008 in New York City. The award which was created and named after Burt Bacharach’s longtime songwriting partner recognizes talented young songwriters. Prior recipients of the awards have been: Rob Thomas, Alicia Keys, John Mayer, and John Legend.

“John Rzeznik is well-deserving of the Starlight Award, not only shining as an outstanding, talented songwriter, but one with a unique vision.”
I had never heard of the award before, but this sounds pretty cool. Rzeznik has written some good stuff.

Very well-deserved! Johnny Rzeznik is one of the greatest song writers of our time, and he is so under-rated. It’s wonderful to see that he is getting the attention he so greatly deserves!!
