American Idol 7 Top 6 Attempt Andrew Lloyd Weber

Tonight the American Idol contestants performed Andrew Lloyd Weber’s songbook. It was no surprise to see some of the Idol wannabes struggle. His songs are quite difficult to perform because to do it well, it requires understanding the story behind the song and some didn’t seem to get it. Here’s the review for this week and prediction of who’ll be in the bottom 3 and who’s going home next.

  • Syesha Mercado sang as well as she looked tonight which was great. I was really pleased with her performance. This was her best one so far.
  • Jason Castro did a very weak rendition of “Memory” and it was painful to listen to.
  • Brooke White was probably nervous when she started and stopped abruptly after forgetting the words. Too bad she didn’t stop there though because her performance was awful. Her voice seems to get more nasal every week for some reason.
  • David Archuleta was kinda boring tonight even though he sang alright.
  • Carly Smithson yelled a bit during “Jesus Christ Superstar” but overall, she sang it well.
  • David Cook sang “The Music of the Night” well, but it was rather boring and didn’t suit him at all.

Favorite performance tonight: Syesha Mercado
Worst performance: Brooke White
Bottom 3 prediction: Brooke White, Jason Castro, the third one is anyone’s best guess - I think it should go to David Archuleta.

Prediction of who’ll get the boot: Brooke White - I’ll be surprised if Vote 4 The Worst could save her from elimination this week.
