Tonight’s American Idol elimination was great! Special guests were Elliott Yamin and Mariah Carey. Elliott performed his song “Free” and did an amazing job! This was the first time that he was on stage without his mom in the audience. It was also very touching to see him with the words written on his hand “We miss you Mom.” It was really sad when his mother had passed away on April 1, 2008 because they had such a close relationship as she was always there at his performances as his biggest supporter.

Ryan Seacrest broke up the contestants into two groups and tried to throw everyone off by mixing them up a bit by saying one group was safe and one group was in the bottom 3. Then he brought out the cute lil puppy David Archuleta to be in the middle to choose. But just before David sat on the floor out of protest in choosing a group, Ryan switched David Cook and Syesha Mercado. It was hilarious when Carly Smithson realized she was in the “safe” group and pushed Ryan with excitement. It would’ve been much more funny if she actually knocked him down though. So, the bottom 3 were:

• Brooke White
• Syesha Mercado

And the person given the boot was…

YAY! Although my prediction was a little off and I thought Brooke would be going home for her awful performance last night, I am SO thrilled it was Kristy’s turn to go! Ding dong, Kristy is gone!
