Kathryn Faughey Suspected Killer Still Wanted

Kathryn Faughey who was hacked to death on Tuesday night and the main suspect, a patient, is still at-large. Faughey was a psychologist in the Upper East Side area of New York. Her colleague, another therapist, Dr. Kent Shinbach, tried to intervene when he heard Faughey screaming, but he was also attacked by the deranged man. Apparently, the killer also confronted Shinbach’s female patient but when she kneed him in the groin, he fled, according to police.

The suspect is described as a sandy-haired middle-aged man. Above is a police sketch of the suspect released by the NYPD. According to police, he left behind two bags — one with a small cache of knives and one filled with women’s clothing and adult diapers.

What a freaky story! It’s terrifying that someone could just go crazy like that. I wonder how this guy got away so easily and hasn’t been caught yet. Someone must’ve seen him in the city.

UPDATE: David M. Tarloff, a 39-year-old man was charged on Saturday for killing Kathryn Faughey and attacking the psychiatrist who tried to help his colleague according to the New York Times. Law enforcement officials claim the former patient blamed Kathryn for having him institutionalized 17 years ago. I’m relieved they caught the psycho!
