Kat Von D Sent Anti Semitic Message After Being Fired?
WARNING: Photo shown has offensive language written and drawn on it.
Kat Von D is being accused of signing a photograph with a racist message towards her former boss, Ami James, and drew a swastika and a flaming Star of David on it. Apparently Ami (who is Jewish) went to TLC with the photo and was given the brush off so Ami had an attorney step in. A handwriting analyst found that “there is a 99% probability that Kat Von D” wrote the message. Ami claims that after his lawyer approached TLC with the analysis in July 2007, they sent a letter acknowledging receipt of the analysis and wrote:
“We trust that this information will be kept strictly confidential.”
However, a month later, Kat’s spinoff show, “LA Ink,” premiered.
TMZ reports that Ami said:
“What is more devastating to me, and much more shameful is when people ignore something like this for the sake of the money or self-interest. That is the real ‘punch in the gut.’”
TLC sent TMZ the following statement:
“A publicity photo was brought to the network’s attention eight months ago that contained extraordinarily offensive language. A full investigation was immediately conducted to determine whether anyone associated with the network was involved. Kat vehemently denied authoring the text and after completing the investigation, it was determined that insufficient evidence existed to conclude that she had. Therefore, no disciplinary action was taken. The network always takes these matters seriously and follows what we believe to be an appropriate course of action as dictated by the circumstances and available information.”
Kat issued the following statement through her rep:
“The recent accusation of a publicity photo of me with offensive and anti-semitic comments and graphics allegedly written by me is completely false and unfounded, and clearly a forgery. This was already proven many months ago to be 100 percent untrue. I always have been, and will continue to be an advocate for tolerance of all races, religions and ways of life.”
So who do we believe? If Kat really did send that photo with that message, she should be taken off the air and be forced to publicly apologize. I find the allegations difficult to believe because she wouldn’t be that stupid, would she? I don’t doubt that a network would be more concerned about the show and ratings though - money usually comes first in business. Whoever wrote the message is obviously a sick and hateful person that should be ashamed.

13 babblicious comments:
the pic is an obvious fake. you can see where the lines are added to. and the diff styles of hand writing. its just a sick joke from some jealous low life.
I refuse to take the word of anyone who can’t operate under an adult name. Kat Von D ? Grow the hell up already. You’re not a pirate, you’re not in a band, and you’re not 12 years old anymore. Tats used to stnand for individuality and attitude, now everybody and their mom has one anymore. Tats stop being cool the minute someone other than a biker, gangster or a convict started getting them. The second some soft little cheerleader type got her first ink- the edge was gone and hasn’t come back. Same applies to you fruits out there with all the piercings. The instant a some wussy software designer got his eyebrow pierced- the coolness evaporated.
The picture and the comments look authentic to me. I think we need to write to TLC and demand that she be fired from her new show.
As far as the first commenter said, she has only proven that she is as stupid sober? as Mel Gibson was drunk! ROFLMAO!
@Shwank44, for your information- Kat Von D handed the picture personally to Chris Garver.
Chris Garver is a very respected artist and person in the tattoo industry. I would take his word over Kat’s any day.
She handed Chris the photo to give to Ami. The fact that she’s denying it shouldn’t be a surprise. She’s just another fame hungry individual who will do any kind of stupidity just to get attention.
Besides, the handwriting expert who TLC commissioned said there is a 99% probability Kat wrote the message.
Any thinking person will see who’s lying here.
LOL. FAIL.
I like how everyone likes to think that they were personally there when everything happened, in situations like these.
guess what? YOU WEREN’T. So we don’t know the 100% truth, and we probably won’t among every other thing in the ‘celebrity’ world.
I say, yes the picture and writing is sick.
Can I put blame on anyone or point out that anyone’s lying? No. It’s not like I personally seen Kat write it, OR seen Kat give it to Chris.
Word of advice for EVERYONE? believe nothing you hear, and only half of what you see. End of story.
Sasha,
the fact that you are going under the assumption that tattoos has anything to do with being “cool” just shows how stupid you are to begin with. I agree with you the Kat should find another name besides the idiotic von d bullshit. But you need to do some serious fucking research on the art and culture that is tattoos as well as the industry. The bullshit you speak about tattoos on anyone other than bikers, gangsters or convicts is fucking blasphemy and i quiver to think what your tats look like. I am a 25 year old tiny girl with full sleeves and chest pieces and i am entitled to do whatever i wish with my body without a stupid bitch named SASHA telling me different.
Mia’s right. I’ve been tattooing for seven years, and know Chris Garver to be a very highly respected individual in the industry for his work ethic, as well as his honesty and integrity. He would not do something as idiotic as exerting all that effort to actually go to TMZ and put his name behind some slander as a crazy elaborate “scheme” against Kat Von D. That’s just ridiculous! Chris Garver doesn’t even like Ami that much! When I found out she handed that shit personally to Garver, was when I knew without a doubt she was lying!
Mias right, i heard that same story. Steve-o was actually going out with Kat Von D at the time she wrote the note to Ami and he knew what she did. So after all of her dening to the public, Steve-o dumped her. LEGEND!
Also, on Ami and Steve-O’s official myspaces…you can hear they’re side of the story…the truthful one.
Like, cmon, who would you rather believe,
Ami - a respectful, honest-maybe sometimes TOO honest lol, person.
OR
Kat Von D - An immature little kid who obviously didnt like getting fired by Ami and who never really liked him. She even bad mouths him on the show WHEN shes working there! What a BITCH.
In the opening theme of L.A ink she goes:
“I’m opening up my OWN tattoo shop”
what more gives it away that she hates Ami and is a jealous fag!
I reckon, she signed the picture for Ami, then someone else got hold of it and wrote that on there. There is no chance she did that. She’s to nice to do it, and she respects Ami.
You guys do realize Kat Von D is her real name, right?
It’s just a shortened version of Katherine Von Drachenberg.
I like the fact that everyone is bashing Kat for something as trivial as a name which I might add as childish as its been deemed is only her actual name cut down. Her name is Katherine Von Drachenberg and I don’t understand where the name has anything to do with her being an adult or immature for that matter. She’s a respected artist, she rose above the bullshit and made herself a millionaire. I’m not gonna hate on her because of it but I’d be willing to bet that the guys at Miami Ink would with the exception of Garver, Yoshi and maybe Darren. It’s funny how all of this began right before Kat’s show was ready to launch. Do I think she’d be that stupid as to jeopardize everything? No, I don’t aside from the fact that she has legal advisers and contracts with TLC to consider. That network could’ve destroyed her themselves and for sake of saving face they probably would have. Some people just pull out all the stops they can before someone succeeds. In this case I think and wholeheartedly believe that Kat is innocent.
I think to she’s a millionaire. She ask a $1000 dollar a hour.
The name of her shop is now High Voltage Tattoo. All the other girls are gone, Hannah, Kim and Pixie. Only Corey is still there and a lot of other male tatooartist.
