Amy Winehouse Applied for US Visa to Attend Grammys?
photo courtesy of PR Photos/www.prphotos.comAmy Winehouse reportedly left her rehab clinic in London this morning in order to go renew her visa at the U.S. Embassy, according to Usmagazine.com which was confirmed by Amy’s rep. It looks like the troubled singer has plans to perform at the Grammys. Mitch Winehouse, her father, told reporters that she has already returned to the clinic.
Amy’s rep told The Sun:
“The appointment at the U.S. Embassy was made some time ago and was part of the process for obtaining a visa. No decision has been made about the Grammys.”
However, a source told Us Weekly that Amy:
“is desperate to go and has been told she can go on the condition that she has a minder there and returns to rehab when back in the U.K.”
Amy received nominations for album of the year as well as song of the year. Her record label insists:
“She has come to understand that she requires specialist treatment to continue her ongoing recovery from drug addiction.”
As long as she’s under constant supervision, I don’t see why she couldn’t fly in for the Grammys and then just return to rehab. Let’s just hope she is serious about her treatment while she’s in rehab though.
