American Idol Top 24

WARNING…Spoiler Alet, if you’re on the West Coast or in Hawaii, you may not want to read this until after you’ve seen tonight’s show yourself.

I won’t list the names of the chosen Top 24 because I can’t remember all of their names (actually, can’t remember most), but there were some surprises tonight and I’m just going to write my thoughts about a few decisions made.

What shocked me about Simon Cowell was when he said he really fought for the future presidential candidate guy to go through, but judges Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson didn’t agree with him. He was very likable and seemed to be a great guy, but he wasn’t the greatest singer. His singing was rather ordinary. I was only surprised that Simon liked him so much, not about him being sent home. I liked him too though…perhaps, he’ll pursue a life in politics and we’ll see him in the public eye again.

Josiah Fleming, the guy who I was pulling for despite his awful second audition, shockingly didn’t make it. Although I don’t think this competition was right for him, I thought the judges and producers would’ve wanted him to go through because he had a great story. I hope he makes a good living in whatever he does, song writing, playing with a band, or whatever, because I just feel for struggling artists. At least, I hope for Josiah’s sake that he finds a way to earn enough money to rent a room somewhere.

A few people that I didn’t mention previously who made it to the selected 24: the guy who (I think) is from Australia who sang a Queen song - Simon complimented him for having the best audition of the day…but I can’t remember his name. He was impressive. Danny Noriega has a great voice - I was glad to see him go through. I was also happy the plus-sized model and the girl who lost her father made it. I think they’ll do well.

It should be an interesting season. Do you have any favorites already? I’m rooting for Amanda the nurse right now.

The Austrailian guy’s name is Michael Johns, which is my brother’s name. I can’t forget that one! Also wanted to thank you for letting me know who made it between the last two girls. My DVR cut off the ending!
