This week American Idol gave the boot to four contestants and it was a bit of a shocker, at least to me! The following received the heave-ho:

• Jason Yeager - His leaving was probably no surprise to anyone, especially him. It’s too bad he didn’t pick better songs because he seems to be a talented guy, but like Simon Cowell said, he just didn’t stand out.
• Alexandrea Lushington - This was a shocker to me because she wasn’t as bad as some. Her performance last night wasn’t that great, but it wasn’t bad. I thought she would’ve received a lot of younger voters because of her age (17). It’s too bad she didn’t get another week - she actually has a great voice.
• Alaina Whitaker - Wow! While her performance last night was painful to listen to, I really thought she would have survived because she’s young. Alaina was so shocked, she started crying and said: “I can’t sing. I’m sorry.” I felt bad for her because she looked so surprised and humiliated. My eyes even welled up with tears because I really felt sorry for her - she’s only 16. After being a little pressured to sing, she sang with the support of the other girls. They should’ve just allowed her to leave the stage without singing though…as it was awful to hear her do that song again and do it even worse than last night because she was so upset. I mentioned before that American Idol seems to like torturing us eh?
• Robbie Carrico - the wannabe rocker with the wig (?) was a no brainer, but just a relief when Ryan told him. At least I don’t have to hear him again on the show. It was a little amusing when Simon pretty much told him that the viewers weren’t buying his act and then Ryan looked like he didn’t know what to say after that and then quickly said: “Thanks for being on the show man.”

Interestingly, I was only 50% right again with my predictions.
