Dr. Phil Cancels Special on Britney Spears

“We had planned to tape a Dr. Phil Now show tomorrow, focusing not on the tabloid side of Britney’s latest problems, but instead on the very serious issues surrounding this case. Clearly, it is not just Britney’s family struggling to find a way to protect adult children who cannot be ordered or compelled to seek help. Because the Spears situation is too intense at this time, and out of consideration to the family, I have made the decision not to move forward with the taping at this particular time. Britney and her family are in our prayers and we ask that they be in yours.”
He also says details of his hospital visit with Britney:
“will, of course, remain private.”
I wonder if he canceled because of the bad press he’s getting or he had some advice from colleagues not to go through with it now. I’m sure the network would have loved him to do the show either way because everyone would have been curious enough to watch and that would surely have boosted ratings. And after all, isn’t it just about the ratings?

I’m sure he’s canceling the show only because he’s been called to the carpet on his lies. He didn’t meet with her for an hour in the hospital like he claims, but for 15 min. He didn’t escort her out to her car, he chased her out like an ambulance chaser. He’s a media whore.
Um no…I believe it was Britney’s FATHER who told Dr. Phil it wasn’t going to happen.
