Rihanna Reveals Hair Controversy and More!
photo courtesy of PR Photos/www.prphotos.comNot everyone was too happy with Rihanna when she decided to cut her hair and sport a bob hairstyle. The “Umbrella” singer talked about her hair controversy in an interview in the January issue of Allure:
“The label [Def Jam] didn’t want me to do this look. But cutting my hair, it made me stand out as an artist. I don’t care who likes it – this is me.”
Rihanna also revealed she wasn’t always such a trendsetter:
“I was cultured in a very ‘black’ way. But when I got to school I’m being called ‘white’… they would look at me, and they would curse me out. I didn’t understand.”
And despite rumors that witnesses saw Rihanna making out with Josh Hartnett, she is still denying they’ve ever been a couple:
“He and my management, they have each other’s contact information. I went to [NYC club] Pink Elephant, and he came by. All of a sudden, the next day, I’m seeing that we were kissing and hugging up each other.”
She also tried to clear up the gossip about hooking up with Jay-Z and her feud with Beyoncé:
“She’s Beyoncé, and I’m [Jay-Z's] new protegee. When we see each other we say hi. We’re not enemies, but we’re not ‘friends’ friends.”
What a brave girl to get such a controversial hairstyle eh? And it sounds like she’s not very fond of Beyoncé too. When a celebrity says in public, “We’re not enemies, but we’re not friends” something must’ve went down between them.
