Tom Cruise as the Playboy Founder?

“Tom knows of Hugh’s colorful past and thinks he would be the perfect person to bring it to the big screen. He also thinks the role would be a challenge for him, and would remind people of his versatility as an actor. At the moment people are concentrating on his personal life, and his marriage to Katie - but he wants to remind them that he can act too.”
However, his rep has refused to confirm whether or not he is taking on the role.
Shouldn’t they be considering an actor who seems like he’s had a lot of sex with a lot of women?? I wonder if they’ve considered George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio, or even Jude Law. Tom doesn’t seem to cut it unless the make-up artists give him a completely new look and he does a darn good job acting in this role.
