Alicia Keys Could’ve Been "Wild" Like a Stripper

According to Us, Alicia was born as Alicia Augello-Cook and had a tough time coming up with a new name for the entertainment business. When Alicia resorted to using the dictionary, she came up with a last name of “wild.” Apparently her mom didn’t dig that name because,
“she said, ‘It sounds like you’re a stripper,’”
Alicia revealed to Newsweek.
She then ended up with Keys, explaining:
“It’s like the piano keys. And it can open so many doors.”
It’s always interesting how entertainers come up with their professional name. I love the name Keys too, but it would’ve been more fun if she stuck with name “Wild” and had a sex tape leaked though.
