Marisa Tomei is a Shoplifter?
Marisa Tomei, who looked amazing at last month’s Toronto Film Festival, has revealed a secret about herself. She’s a shoplifter! Marisa is going to appear in a new film as a thief in Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead, admits she prepared for her new role by stealing. She told the New York Daily News:
“I have stolen recently… Band-Aids! There were five Band-Aids in the pack, and I got a sticker shock at the price, so I just grabbed one, which was all I needed.”
Well, even though it was only one bandage, she should have paid for the entire pack. If an Oscar-winning actress can’t pay for a pack of five bandages because she thinks it’s too expensive, what does that say for the rest of us regular folk? Should we just start taking whatever we want when we think things are too expensive and no one will notice? It’s too bad she didn’t get caught.
Marisa’s petty theft won’t break anyone’s bank and it’s certainly not as bad as other crimes, but why even admit to this silly act? I guess publicity is everything.
