David Copperfield is Being Investigated By FBI
UPDATE: A Seattle woman has reportedly accused the illusionist David Copperfield of raping her in the Bahamas according to SFGate.com. As the story develops, we will provide updates.
Last night, we reported the following:
According to FoxNews.com, David Copperfield is being investigated by the FBI in Las Vegas which was confirmed by his lawyer and FBI spokesperson on Thursday. A local station KLAS-TV, reported an FBI raid took place Wednesday at Copperfield’s warehouse where he stores tricks and memorabilia. Without giving out too much information, a Seattle FBI Special Agent, Robbie Burroughs said:
“I can say that there was investigative activity yesterday and yesterday evening in Las Vegas. The investigation is related to a Seattle case. The Seattle case is pending and that means we can’t say anything about it.”
David Chesnoff, Copperfield’s attorney confirmed that his client had been contacted by investigators and said:
“We understand there is an investigation, are in touch with the investigators, and are respecting the confidentiality of the investigation.”
