Whoopi Went After Barry Manilow?
Whoopi Goldberg spoke about Barry Manilow’s refusal to go on The View because he dislikes Elisabeth Hasselbeck saying:
“If you don’t sit with one, you sit with none.”
Barry allegedly pulled out of his appearance on the show calling Hasselbeck “dangerous and offensive”, however, producers of The View insist they told Manilow he couldn’t appear on the show if he wanted to make demands on who was interviewing him.
Whoopi went on in her message to Manilow:
“We’ve had liberals, we’ve had Republicans - we service everybody!”
Well, no one probably blames him for not wanting to be on a show with Hasselbeck. She’s so annoying.

Silverstone and Manilow diss Elizabeth not because they have an independent thought or backbone, but because we all know what happens if you don’t pick sides with your “friend” Rosie. Isn’t that what the original fight was all about?
Sorry, I too find Elizabeth highly offensive and her ideals ridiculous and murderous to too many. I admire BM for not visiting the View.
I’m a Democrat, and I find Barry Manilow is ridiculous. Elizabeth is the only Conservative on the show and yet she does not walk off if someone more Liberal comes on. It is rather embarassing, espessially for someone who wanted to eat with the Reagans as the wikipedia has stated.
No Elizatwit doesn’t walk off when someone who doesn’t hold her views comes on. She simply tries to turn the discussion into a political debate, interrupts them constantly, and resorts to raising her voice in an attempt to win the argument. As for Barry saying something about the Reagans inviting him for a barbecue, it was a joke! I’d still like to know why everyone is taking the word of a gossip blog as gospel in the first place; I know that Barry Manilow hates being gossiped about and tries to keep his name out of the tabloids and gossip blogs so why would he contact TMZ and say something so inflammatory about Elizatwit in the first place?
The View producer and Barbara Walters have changed their minds by the way and asked Barry to appear at a future date and he seems to have said yes. Perhaps when Blondie goes on maternity leave which works out well for both him and a show that’s ratings are sinking faster than the Titanic after hitting that icebert.
I’m going to throw something new into the mix, Whoopi stood up for Elizabeth who she obviously disagreed with, because she could see the bigger picture.
Let’s say the panel had three Conservatives, one Liberal. A Conservative leaning star wanted the Liberal gone if he/she would apear on this particular program.
What are the chances that the host would make the same decision?
