Dan Rather Sues CBS For $70 Million!

Dan Rather has reportedly filed a $70 million lawsuite against CBS, Viacom, and three of his former bosses. According to TMZ, Rather claims that CBS and the execs there “tarnished his reputation and made him a scapegoat for a discredited report on President Bush’s National Guard service. The lawsuit also claims that CBS violated his contract by taking him off the air after the fallout from that story.

Rather said in a press release issued today that if he wins the lawsuit, he will donate a majority of the money to “causes that will further journalistic independence.”

Apparently CBS isn’t too worried because they told TMZ:

“These complaints are old news and this lawsuit is without merit.”

I hope Dan Rather wins. He was treated like sh*t by CBS.
